Ailin Shan, DMD

BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Shan is a graduate of Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine, one of the best in the country. She has been a dentist for years and has been through several post graduate courses in different fields of dentistry since receiving her DMD degree. Previously, she had completed a Dental MD and Master Degree of Microbiology & Immunology from Qi Lu Medical University in Shandong, China. From 1987-1993, she served as an Assistant professor at Capital Medical University in Beijing, China and from 1993-1999, she was a Research Fellow of Molecular Genetics at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.

Her emphasis on patient comfort as well as keeping up-to-date with the latest advancements in dentistry enable her to provide her patients with the best quality of care in the field. Dr. Shan has a wide range of experience in different areas of dentistry, from cosmetic and restorative dentistry to surgical treatments and root canal treatments.

Her approach to your treatment starts with patiently listening to you. Then, after a complete and thorough examination, she reviews and discusses the diagnosis and treatment options with you.

Michael Shakroo, DDS

BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Shakroo earned his Doctor Degree in Dental Surgery from Virginia Commonwealth University. Upon graduation, he was elected to be a member of the Honor Dental Society (OKU), and he was recognized by the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology for his interest and accomplishment. Dr. Shakroo also received a certificate of excellence in general dentistry and a certificate of recognition as a teaching assistant from Virginia Commonwealth University. He is an adjunct faculty in VCU Dental School. Prior to Virginia Commonwealth University Dr. Shakroo received a Dental degree in 2001 from Baghdad University, after that he enrolled in an Advanced Education program in General Dentistry. In 2003, he joined a residency program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and started practicing general dentistry in his own clinic.

Dr. Shakroo was married in December 2004 and blessed with three boys. He loves reading, learning, spending time with family and friends, and participating in his local activities.
